True Blue Family Company

Since 1946 Gason has evolved and grown, earning a wide reputation for quality manufacturing guided by the family’s belief that if you build it well, it will last.

In February 1946, Frank Gason founded a small, family owned and operated motor trimming business at Ararat in Western Victoria.

Then, in 1958, the company was invited to build a cabin for a Minneapolis Moline GTA (Twin City) tractor. This cabin became the first of tens of thousands that were produced over the following 40 years, carrying the Gason name, onto farms in every corner of Australia.

By the mid-1970s, Gason cabins were the market leaders and fitted as original equipment on tractors, headers and industrial machinery for local and imported brands such as John Deere, International and Caterpillar.

Through the decades the Gason team’s commitment to innovation and quality is a cornerstone for product development. The company diversified to design and manufacture other agricultural machinery unique to Australia, such as cultivation equipment and air seeders. By collaborating with engineers, farming groups and individual farmers Gason created products for increased productivity and profitability.

During the 1980’s Gason helped pioneer an Australian Standard for roll-over protective structures (ROPS) for tractors and established a National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) accredited test facility at the factory.

Gason offer a wide range of industrial services such as laser cutting, powder coating, welding and assembly supplying customers in major capital cities and other regional areas. An extensive network of dealers across Australia provide sales and support for agriculture equipment and specialist woodheating ranges.

A fourth generation of Gasons are now working in the business as part of a strong management team, continuing to apply Frank’s original guiding principles that made the company synonymous with quality.
